The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure for Storytellers and Screenwriters
By Christopher Vogler

This is an excellent book to help with plotting. It uses classical plot structure and is a wonderful device to help
bolster a sagging story.

Write Great Fiction: Plot and Structure
By James Scott Bell

This entire series from Writer's Digest Books is excellent. I merely choose this one at random from the
series. Although essential for the beginning writer, I occasionally reread them and have found of things that I
need to review with them. Just a great series!

Scene of the Crime: A Writer's Guide to Crime-Scene Investigations
By Anne Wingate, Ph.D

This is another series that deserves a place on your shelf if you are a mystery writer. Although written over
ten years ago (I believe they are still available), they are still indispensable. This series is called The
Howdunit Series. Again, another great series of teaching books!
